Switching to an electric vehicle in Dayton, Ohio, doesn't have to be a hassle. With both public and home-based chargers at your disposal, it's easy to keep your Chevy EV charged and going strong. Here's a quick guide to charging your EV.

Public chargers

If you need to charge your Chevy Bolt EV or EUV when you're out running errands or on a road trip, you have two types of public chargers to choose from: Level 2 and DC Fast Charging stations. Level 2 public chargers can restore about 39 miles of range for your Bolt EV per hour of charging, according to Chevrolet estimates.1 You can find chargers like these at popular destinations like Delco Park, the National Museum of the US Air Force, the Kettering Recreation Center, and the University of Dayton campus. For even faster recharging, consider stopping by a DC Fast Charging station. These high-powered chargers can provide a Bolt EV with up to 100 miles of range in just 30 minutes.1

Finding a charging station is a snap thanks to myChevrolet Mobile App. This convenient app helps you plan energy-efficient routes, set charging alerts, locate charging stations, and even pay for your recharge before you arrive.

Home charging options

If you'd like the convenience of charging your EV at home, this option is perfect for topping off your vehicle's battery. In conjunction with your EV's built-in apps, you can set a timer to allow your vehicle to charge at off-peak hours, allowing you to save money on recharging your car's battery. Plus, you'll be able tackle projects around your house while your vehicle charges, instead of being stuck at a charging station for an hour or more.

At home, you can enjoy Level 1 and Level 2 charging. With your Bolt EV hooked up to a Level 1 charger (a standard electrical outlet), it'll regain about 4 miles of range per hour.1 This form of charging is ideal for refreshing your vehicle overnight, between your daily commutes. A Level 2 charger plugs into a 240-Volt Appliance Outlet and provides up to 26 miles of range per hour.1

And if you'd like Level 2 charging with speed on par with what you'd find at a public Level 2 charging station, you won't have to break the bank. When you purchase a 2022 or 2023 Chevrolet Bolt EV or EUV, the automaker will provide free installation of a high-tech EV charging unit in your garage.
