An exciting new Silverado model has just joined the lineup — the Chevrolet Silverado ZR2 Bison. Born of a partnership between Chevy and American Expedition Vehicles, it’s the next step up in off-roading prowess thanks to an improved engine and an array of dedicated off-roading components.
The ZR2 Bison boasts an enhanced Duramax® three-liter turbodiesel engine. This second-generation powerhouse sees a 10-percent increase in horsepower from the previous version, up to 305. It offers stronger torque as well, up to 495 lb-ft. This is all due to improved technologies within the engine, such as a retuned turbo compressor, new fuel injectors, and better temperature control.
In addition to all of the ZR2’s standard equipment, the ZR2 Bison adds high-quality steel AEV bumpers and underbody protection. The bumpers also sport heavy duty recovery points and step pads, and you can attach a winch to the front bumper in case you ever find yourself stuck on the trail. You’ll also benefit from hot-stamped boron steel skid plates and exclusive 18-inch AEV wheels with 33-inch off-roading tires.
The Silverado ZR2 Bison is expected to be available by the end of this year. Mark your calendar now so you don’t forget to swing by White Allen Chevrolet in Dayton, Ohio, and check it out for yourself.
