Bill's Donut Shop
268 N. Main Street, Centerville
Founded in 1960 by Bill and Faye Elam, Bill's Donut Shop was originally located in downtown Dayton. Over the years, the shop moved several times, finally settling into its current location in 1979. In the mid-1990s, Bill and Faye sold Bill's Donuts to two of their children, who continued the tradition of serving delicious breakfast pastries. Customer favorites include Cinnamon Sugar Twist, Devil's Food, Apple Spice, and Red Velvet White Iced. You can also order muffins, turnovers, apple fritters, and Ohio's ever-popular Buckeyes.

Eden Spice
501 E. Dixie Drive, Dayton
Theresa Barnes had aspirations of opening her own restaurant since she was 10. She spent years fine-tuning her combination of African, Caribbean, and American cuisines and opened Eden Spice in the late 2000s. Customers can customize their food choices or choose one of the restaurant's signature entrees. Signature meats include goat stew, oxtail, curry goat, lamb, and red snapper, and vegetarian options include African sweet potatoes, stir-fry okra, and black-eyed peas. All entrees come with rice and vegetables.
Fino Sur
101 Alex Bell Road, Suite #186, Centerville
In 2019, Alberto Arenas and his wife participated in the Hispanic Heritage Festival in Dayton. When they saw how the community gravitated toward their Peruvian cooking, they decided to open Fino Sur. Born in Lima, Peru, the two moved to America 15 years ago and honed their recipes while working in restaurants and catering Peruvian food to family and friends. Their most popular dishes include an Inca Bowl with quinoa and sauteed mushrooms, Chicken Anticuchos with a traditional Peruvian sauce, and Lomo Saltado with sauteed steak and vegetables. Fino Sur is closed on Sundays.
Jimmie's Ladder 11
936 Brown Street, Centerville
Owner Jimmie Brandell got his start in the restaurant business at the age of 16 and worked his way up to eventually opening his establishment in 2004. The building that houses the restaurant dates back to the 1860s when it was known as a late-night entertainment location. Family-owned and operated Jimmie's Ladder 11 opened to the public on 11/11/11 and offers customers a diverse menu.
Order one of the restaurant's famous sandwiches, the Ladder 11, which includes pastrami, corned beef, hand-cut coleslaw, and Russian dressing served on a toasted hoagie bun or rye bread. Another popular choice is Jack's Special, which has thinly sliced roast beef, tomatoes, hand-cut coleslaw, and Russian dressing on rye or a toasted hoagie roll. It also has almost a dozen different pizza and calzone choices, with the pizzas served either as 10 or 14 inches.
1Eleven Flavor House
111 W. First Street, Dayton
Located at 111 W. First Street in Dayton, 1Eleven Flavor House specializes in Caribbean comfort food and strives to give people a unique eating experience full of flavorful food. Its Creamy Chicken Alfredo, Turkey Burger, and Oxtail Flavor House Sandwich are some of the more popular choices for lunch. For dinner, consider the Cajun Fried Red Snapper, Island Jerk Burger, or Flavor-House Escabeche.
The Pine Club
1926 Brown Street, Dayton
A local institution since 1947, The Pine Club is known as one of the top steakhouses in the country. Jim Sullivan purchased Lonnie's Bar and installed pine paneling on the walls, bringing forth the establishment's new name. In 1974, the restaurant changed ownership when Lloyd Meinzer bought it and added the southern portion of the dining room and increased the size of the bar. Even though the restaurant changed hands once more when David Hulme bought it in 1979, it continues to offer the same old-world charm and exceptional food.
Try one of the cuts, such as a filet mignon, a strip-loin steak, a porterhouse, or a bone-in rib-eye. If you prefer other types of meat, The Pine Club also offers veal, lamb, lobster, scallops, rainbow trout, salmon, and pork chops. Dinners include their famous stewed tomatoes or the fresh vegetables of the day, along with your choice of potatoes, salad dressings, or dinner rolls. Carryout is available Monday through Friday. Keep in mind that The Pine Club doesn't accept credit cards.
Texas Beef & Cattle Company
1101 W. Third Street, Dayton
Born and raised in Corpus Christi, Texas, James Nunez joined the Navy when he was 18 and traveled to numerous cities and countries, searching for the comfort food that reminded him of home. Thus began a longing to create low and slow barbeque. He opened the brick-and-mortar restaurant with a co-op model in mind.
The hand-trimmed meats at Texas Beef & Cattle Company are smoked with mesquite wood that they actually cut themselves. They use family recipes, and all their food is made from scratch with the freshest ingredients. Two of their most popular choices are beef ribs and brisket, and they also serve other mouth-watering dishes such as pulled pork, St. Louis baby back ribs, and whole chickens. Don't forget to order sides, which include coleslaw, mac and cheese, and Texas rice.
Thai Table Restaurant & Bar
5841 Far Hills Avenue, Dayton
Thai Table Restaurant & Bar serves Thai-style dishes using the finest ingredients. The restaurant opened in early 2021 and is the second eatery founded by chef Suwapat "Sue" Whitted, who also owns Thai Kitchen in Centerville. Every dish is savory and delectable, and you can choose between authentic and modern Thai cuisine. Customer favorites include Shrimp Pad Thai, Roasted Duck Curry, and Chicken Satay. Its menu also features healthy dishes, some of which include Thai Eggplant and Three-Flavor Tofu.
